Voter registration applications reach听almost 8 million听
THE NUMBER听of voter registration applications听鈥斕齣ncluding new, transfers, and reactivation听鈥斕齭tood听at 7.99 million as of Sept. 25,听according to data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec)听released Tuesday.听听
Of the听total,听4.15 million听were听new registrants, 2.64 million听were听applicants for transfer to other precincts, 643,524听were听for reactivation and reinstatement, and 460,955听were听for updates on voter information.听听听
The poll body has yet to release its latest count of total registered voters in the country, with its latest听available听data still at 61 million as of Aug. 13.听听
Of the 61 million, the biggest voting populations听are from听the听41-59听age group听with 18.94 million, and 22-33听at听18.62 million.听听听
Luzon has听the most听number of registered听voters at 33.73 million, followed by Mindanao with 14.61 million, and 12.67 million are from Visayas.听听听
