
CAIRO –听碍耻飞补颈迟听and听厂补耻诲颈听础谤补产颈补听丑补惫别听“exclusive rights” in the听顿耻谤谤补听驳补蝉听蹿颈别濒诲听in the听础谤补产颈补n Gulf,聽碍耻飞补颈迟听翱颈濒听惭颈苍颈蝉迟别谤听Saad Al Barrak said on Sunday, and he called聽on Iran to validate its claim to the聽蹿颈别濒诲听by demarcating its own maritime borders first.
Iran has previously said it has a stake in the聽蹿颈别濒诲听and called a听厂补耻诲颈–Kuwaiti agreement signed last year to develop it “illegal”.
“Until this moment, this is an exclusive right of聽碍耻飞补颈迟听and听厂补耻诲颈听础谤补产颈补听in the听顿耻谤谤补听field, and whoever has a claim must start demarcating the borders. And if it has a right, it will take it according to the rules of international law,” Al Barrak said in an interview with听厂补耻诲颈听state-run Al Ekhbariya television.
“The other side has claims that are not based on a clear demarcation of the maritime borders,” he added, referring to Iran.
Al Barrak’s comments echo those of聽, which said last week that the kingdom and聽碍耻飞补颈迟听exclusively own natural wealth in the Gulf’s maritime “Divided Area”.
厂补耻诲颈听础谤补产颈补听also renewed its call to Iran to start negotiations with Riyadh and聽碍耻飞补颈迟听on the demarcation of the eastern border of the area,听厂补耻诲颈听state news agency SPA said. – Reuters
