SENATOR Pilar Juliana 鈥淧ia鈥 S. Cayetano has been elected as the new chairperson of the Senate Committee on Accountability of Public Officers and Investigations, in place of Senator Panfilo 鈥淧ing鈥 M. Lacson.
The panel, also known as the Blue Ribbon Committee, led the chamber鈥檚 investigation into alleged corruption linked to the government鈥檚 anomalous flood control project.
Four more committee chairmanships were filled on Wednesday, with Senator Maria Imelda 鈥淚mee鈥 R. Marcos taking over the Foreign Relations panel and Senator Robinhood C. Padilla leading the Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes committee.
The Judicial and Bar Council committee has also been transferred to new chairperson Senator Rodante D. Marcoleta.
Meanwhile, Senator Camille A. Villar retained chairmanships of the committees on Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, and Government Corporations and Public Enterprises. 鈥 Kaela Patricia B. Gabriel
