Residential units, lifetime flying miles among incentives awarded to Olympic silver medalist听Nesthy听Petecio

Silver medalist听Nesthy听A.听Petecio, who went up against Japanese opponent听Sena听Irie in the women鈥檚 featherweight final bout, is guaranteed P5 million pesos for her 2021 Tokyo Olympics stint, per听.听听

She is also set to receive other incentives, including a condominium in Davao Park District from Megaworld Corporation chairman Andrew L. Tan, and lifetime Mabuhay Miles from Philippine Airlines.听听

鈥淵our silver win showed the heart of a strong Filipina to the听world!,鈥 said PAL in a statement on Tuesday.听听

Here are the details of her windfall thus far:听听

  • 听鈥撎60,000 Mabuhay Miles per year for life听听听
  • AirAsia Philippines 鈥 5 years unlimited flights. All 14 Filipino athletes who competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics additionally get three free round-trip tickets to any AirAsia domestic destination.听听
  • 听鈥 a P10 million residential condominium unit by听Suntrust听Properties, Inc., a Megaworld subsidiary, inside its Davao Park District township听听
  • 听– a Caliya house and lot unit worth P2.5 million in Candelaria, Quezon听听听
  • Philippine Sports Foundation 鈥 P5 million听听
  • MVP Sports Foundation, Inc. 鈥 P5 million听听
  • San Miguel Foundation 鈥 P5 million听听
  • Deputy speaker representative Michael 鈥淢ikee鈥 L. Romero听鈥听P2 million听听
  • 听鈥 P300,000, care of the city鈥檚 athletes鈥 incentives听听
  • Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc.,听through its听Siklab听Atleta听Pilipinas Foundation 鈥撎P3 million听听

听Ms.听Petecio听is the first Filipino boxer to earn a place on the Olympics podium since Mansueto 鈥淥nyok鈥 Velasco, Jr. in the 1996 Atlanta Games.听听

听Her journey to a silver finish in the women鈥檚 featherweight (54鈥57 kg) included a unanimous decision against Colombian boxer Yeni Marcela A. Castaneda in the quarterfinals, and a win over European boxing champion Irma Testa of Italy via split decision in the semifinal bout.听听听

Weightlifter Hidilyn F. Diaz听received similar incentives after she secured the Philippines鈥 first-ever Olympic gold medal on July 27. 鈥斕Patricia B. Mirasol听听
