Philippines climbs to 19^th out of 154 countries in 2023 Nuclear Security Index

The Philippines placed 19th out of 154 countries, up six places from 2020, with a score of 80 (out of 100) in the  by nonprofit, nonpartisan global security organization  (NTI). The report assesses the security of the world’s most dangerous materials (highly enriched uranium and plutonium) against theft and the security of nuclear facilities against sabotage. The Philippines and Thailand tied for third in terms of nuclear safety in East and Southeast Asia.
