鈥淸Clark Development Corp. (CDC)] is doing a redesign of Clark Freeport Zone… Palafox [Associates] won the bid. They鈥檙e reviewing the master plan. We鈥檙e going to wait for the results at the end of the year so we can plan well where to put the housing, where the malls will be鈥 that鈥檚 going to be part of the plan,鈥 BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Vivencio B. Dizon told reporters in a recent interview.

The CDC entered into an agreement with architecture and urban planning firm Palafox Associates in January to redesign the master plan of Clark Freeport Zone.

Mr. Dizon said that the review was because the master plan is 鈥渜uite old,鈥 and has not undergone a review in over 10 years.

鈥淥ther projects will affect Clark, like the railway, the airport… With New Clark City, we have to incorporate everything,鈥 Mr. Dizon said.

The Manila-Clark railway is set to be completed in 2021, while the construction of the new terminal of the Clark International Airportis set to start in December and operations are planned for the first quarter of 2019.

One of the components of New Clark City that will draw particular interest is the New Clark City-Mixed Income Development Housing project.

鈥淭he prices will be affordable鈥 (compared to) Makati, BGC [Bonifacio Global City], even Quezon City,鈥 Mr. Dizon said. 鈥 Patrizia Paola C. Marcelo
