KEVIN LOVE, who plays center for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), is clothing brand Banana Republic鈥檚 new brand ambassador.
鈥淏anana Republic is excited to announce that power forward and gold medalist Kevin Love will be the brand鈥檚 inaugural style ambassador. The partnership marks the first time Banana Republic has teamed up with a pro basketball player,鈥 the brand said in a press release.
Banana Republic said the three time NBA All-Star first posted a teaser across his social channels, @KevinLove, inviting fans to guess about his newest project. Then, 48 hours later, he revealed the news with a behind-the-scenes snapshot on set at Banana Republic鈥檚 spring campaign shoot.
鈥淚n 2016, Love will continue to bring an energetic perspective to Banana Republic, offering a fresh way to engage with customers and his fans,鈥 the press release stated.
Aimee Lapic, Banana Republic senior vice-president and general manager of customer experience, was quoted saying: 鈥淜evin embodies the confidence and optimism our customers find inspiring. He expresses the best version of himself with everything he does, which makes Kevin a natural brand ambassador for fans and customers alike.鈥
The brand said in its press release that Mr. Love will showcase the versatility and quality 鈥 both said reflected in his everyday life 鈥 of Banana Republic鈥檚 men鈥檚 collection. He will engage with consumers 鈥渁cross multiple channels,鈥 the release stated.
