Japan has no right to meddle in China-Philippines maritime issues, says Chinese embassy in Japan
BEIJING听–听闯补辫补苍听is not a party to the South听颁丑颈苍补听Sea issue and听丑补蝉听no听谤颈驳丑迟听to intervene in听颁丑颈苍补–笔丑颈濒颈辫辫颈苍别蝉听尘补谤颈迟颈尘别听matters, a spokesperson for听颁丑颈苍补‘s听别尘产补蝉蝉测听in聽闯补辫补苍听said on Friday.
Japan‘s foreign ministry said this week that it was聽聽over repeated actions that obstruct freedom of navigation and increase regional tensions, including recent dangerous actions that damaged a Filipino vessel and injured Filipinos onboard.
The Philippine foreign ministry听丑补蝉听denounced as “illegal and aggressive”听颁丑颈苍补‘s actions during a routine resupply mission on Monday, which the Philippine military said severely injured a navy sailor and damaged Manila’s vessels.
颁丑颈苍补听denied the allegations as the two countries square off over the Second Thomas Shoal, a disputed atoll inside the听笔丑颈濒颈辫辫颈苍别蝉‘ exclusive economic zone in the vast South听颁丑颈苍补听Sea.
“We express our strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to the fact that the听闯补辫补苍ese side听丑补蝉听once again made erroneous remarks on the South听颁丑颈苍补听Sea issue that manipulate听谤颈驳丑迟听and wrong, and make unreasonable accusations against听颁丑颈苍补,” the spokesperson said.
颁丑颈苍补听claims almost all of the South听颁丑颈苍补听Sea as its own, infuriating neighboring countries. The Permanent Court of Arbitration in 2016 found听颁丑颈苍补‘s sweeping claims have no legal basis, a ruling Beijing rejects.
闯补辫补苍听said it听丑补蝉听consistently advocated upholding the rule of law at sea, and will continue to work with the international community, such as ASEAN member states and the United States.
“Japan‘s cooperation with the United States and the聽笔丑颈濒颈辫辫颈苍别蝉听must not undermine听颁丑颈苍补‘s territorial sovereignty and听尘补谤颈迟颈尘别听谤颈驳丑迟s and interests,”听颁丑颈苍补‘s spokesperson said in a statement.
The US, Canada,听闯补辫补苍, and the聽笔丑颈濒颈辫辫颈苍别蝉听recently wrapped up a two-day joint聽尘补谤颈迟颈尘别听exercise in Manila’s exclusive economic zone in the South听颁丑颈苍补听Sea. – Reuters
