Duterte appoints Brawner as Army chief听听听
PRESIDENT听Rodrigo R. Duterte has听appointed听Major听General Romeo听S.听Brawner,听Jr. as the new commanding general of the Philippine Army, according to the presidential palace.听
The appointment听takes effect听Dec. 7, Mr. Duterte said in a formal letter addressed to Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana.听听听
Mr. Brawner will assume the position vacated by Andres C. Centino, who was appointed as chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines听(AFP)听in听November.听听
Prior to his assignment, Mr. Brawner served as commander of the Philippine Army鈥檚听4th听infantry division听听听
