Juaneza听named NEA chief;听Dizon听quits听BCDA听post听
FORMER听Energy听undersecretary听Emmanuel P.听Juaneza听has been elected as the new administrator of the听National Electrification Administration听(NEA), the agency announced Monday.听听
In a statement, NEA said Mr. Juaneza was听chosen听during a special board meeting chaired by Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi on Monday.听听
President Rodrigo R. Duterte had earlier endorsed Mr. Juaneza’s nomination to head the NEA.听听
“The job is challenging and I am enjoining everyone that we work together to execute the mandate of the NEA with focus on the total electrification of the remaining households across the nation,” Mr. Juaneza said.听听
His听election听comes around two months after Mr. Duterte dismissed former NEA听administrator Edgardo R. Masongsong from service due to alleged corruption.听听

Meanwhile, an official of the听Bases听Conversion听and听Development Authority (BCDA)听said听Vivencio B.听Dizon听has resigned from the agency鈥檚 top post.听听听
鈥淭he resignation letter of president Vince Dizon to the President听(Rodrigo R. Duterte)听has an effectivity date of his resignation on Oct. 15,鈥澨鼴CDA听Executive听Vice听President听Aileen听Anunciacion听R.听Zosa听told the Senate committee budget hearing听on Monday.听听听
Ms. Zosa said Mr. Dizon, who was also appointed last year to lead the country鈥檚 coronavirus testing program, intends to听help with听鈥渢he anti-COVID efforts of the government.鈥澨鈥斕Angelica Y. Yang听and Alyssa Nicole O. Tan听
