Taiwanese,听Korean fugitives arrested听in the Philippines听

TWO FOREIGN听fugitives, a听Taiwanese听and a Korean,听both听wanted in their respective countries for intimidation, fraud, and money laundering were arrested by听Philippine听immigration officers听last week.听听听
In a news release on Sunday, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported the arrest听last Wednesday听of 53-year-old Korean national Yoo Moon Jong in Mabalacat City, Pampanga听and听30-year-old Taiwanese Chen Yan Syun in Ermita, Manila.听听
Mr. Yoo was convicted for swindling a fellow Korean of more than P2.6 million in 2007 and threatening to kill the victim upon learning that the latter had filed a case against him.听听听听
Mr. Chen, according to Taiwanese authorities, is a member of a money laundering syndicate that preyed on victims in Taiwan.听听
The two are temporarily held at the BI鈥檚 detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig while waiting to be deported.听听听
Mr. Morente said the two fugitives have been blacklisted in the Philippines to prevent them from re-entering the country.听听听
