CHAMPION Filipino boxer Michael 鈥淕loves on Fire鈥 Dasmari帽as positioned himself for a shot at adding another feather in his cap after defeating compatriot Kenny 鈥淏ig Heart鈥 Demecillo in their International Boxing Federation (IBF) eliminator fight on Saturday at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
Mr. Dasmari帽as, who had to vacate his International Boxing Organization world bantamweight title, stood his ground against a tough challenge from Mr. Demecillo to win, 116-112, 115-113 and 117-111, and become the mandatory challenger for the IBF bantamweight title.
鈥淚 really went all-out for this fight. I had no doubts while in training and came here prepared. I鈥檓 so happy that I won,鈥 said Mr. Dasmari帽as after his victory.
With the win, Camarines Sur native Dasmari帽as improved to 29-2-1 while Mr. Demecillo dropped to 14-5-2.
