Philippines falls in effective governments ranking

The Philippines’ rank dropped by two notches to 63rd out of 104 countries in the 2022 edition of the , which measures governments’ effectiveness. With a score of 0.484 — in a scale of 0 (worst) to 1 (best) — the country placed the third-lowest in the region, only ahead of Mongolia and Cambodia. Across the seven main pillars used in the index, the Philippines performed best in financial stewardship at 39th.
