
AYALA Corp. has established Ayala Center for Excellence for local athletes and announced聽plans to聽launch its 鈥淎tletang聽Ayala鈥 program by the first quarter this year.
In a statement on Wednesday, the company said it will be using its resources for聽the 鈥渘ext generation鈥 of Filipino Athletes.
鈥淲e believe strongly that Filipinos deserve better access to world-class sports facilities across the country and will continue to work to find ways to support the next generation of Filipino athlete to achieve their full potential,鈥 said Jan Bengzon, program director of Ayala Center for Excellence.
The company plans to redevelop Ayala聽Vermosa聽Sports Hub, which is located in Imus, Cavite, into a 鈥渨orld-class training center for national athletes.鈥
Meanwhile, the 鈥淎tletang聽Ayala鈥 program is aims to support athletes who wish to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
鈥淭he Ayala Group has long seen the impact that sports can have on many facets of its businesses,鈥 Mr. Bengzon said.
鈥淚n聽fact聽a number of our senior executives have represented the country on national teams in different sports, including Ayala Land鈥檚 Chris Macasaet in men鈥檚 volleyball and AC Energy鈥檚 Jaime Urquijo in rugby,鈥 he added.聽鈥 Keren Concepcion G. Valmonte
