Int鈥檒 Film Industry Conference听will feature masterclasses听听

AS PART听of the Philippine Film Industry Month, the听5th听International Film Industry Conference (IFIC)听has organized 11 free public听panels and seven masterclasses from Sept. 16 to 19,听featuring local and international film industry professionals听from听of the global film industry.听听听听听听
Organized by the Film Development Council听of the Philippines听(FDCP),听since 2017,听the听IFIC听consists听of a series of听panels and masterclasses听which听bring together big names from the local and international film industries. 听听听
Last year,听the conference was held online because of the听coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)听pandemic. It drew听over 2,000 attendees听to eight online public sessions and six online masterclasses.听It featured听16 local and international听partners, and听32 local and international speakers.听听听听听
This year, the conference听will听open with a keynote address from Asia-Pacific Region-Motion Picture Association, Communications Vice-President Stephen Jenner.听听听
鈥淎s we expand the annual conference to IFIC along with the eventful celebration of the very first Philippine Film Industry Month, we also elevate the sessions and masterclasses by purposefully curating the lineup of topics and bringing in exceptional filmmakers and professionals in the industry. IFIC features speakers from various international programs including SEAFIC Lab and Torino Film Lab.听听听听听听听
The 11 public sessions听are: 鈥淣urturing Your Narratives through Film Labs鈥;听鈥淓ssentials on Film Financing鈥;听鈥淔undamentals of Dossier Making鈥;听鈥淔ilming With the ASEAN Region: The Future of Film Funding and Grant Opportunities鈥;听鈥淏ackstage Access: Bringing Philippine Animation to the World鈥;听鈥淪haping the New Landscape of ASEAN Film Industry鈥;听鈥淔ilm Market Strategies and Trends鈥;听鈥淧reserving the Future with Film Archiving鈥;听鈥淣etflix: Bringing Filipino Stories to Audiences Everywhere鈥;听鈥淏ehind the Scenes of International Distribution鈥;听and,听鈥淏uilding Strategies Towards the Future of Film Exhibition.鈥 The 11听public听sessions will be held via Zoom for free and streamed听on the听FDCP Facebook and YouTube pages.听听听
The seven masterclasses offered in the conference are 鈥淲riting Essentials: Creating Character-Driven Stories鈥 with film producer, consultant, and screenwriter Samantha听Horley; 鈥淯nveiling Success Behind Documentary Co-Production鈥 with film producer Alexander Nanau;听听鈥淭o the Next Level: Fundamentals of Dossier Making鈥 with film producer Armi Rae Cacanindin; 鈥淧ackaging Your Films for Release鈥 with film sales agent听Kataryzna听Siniarska; 鈥淔inding the Right Tune for Your Film Pitch鈥 with script editor and producer Naomi Levari; 鈥淔orging Paths for Wider Reach: A Guide to Film Marketing鈥 with听叠辞谤颈蝉听笔耻驳苍别迟,听the CEO of听French film company Tiramisu;听听and 鈥淩eality Check: Transformations in Film Distribution鈥 with听Vincent Quek,听founder of Anticipate Pictures. The masterclasses are priced at P800听to P1,000听per class; and P5,000 for premium access to all听seven.听The masterclasses will be held via Zoom.听听听听听听
